Things I Covet: Karen Walker at Anthropologie

I’m dreaming of Spring already and dreaming of one of my favorite New Zealand designers—Karen Walker.  I have been wearing her since I was a teenager in Auckland and I’m so excited that her quirky “Hi There” collection will be at Anthroplogie shortly. I’m sure everyone will be dreaming of these dresses shortly!

Trends and Tips: Springs Beachy Trends

As the sun sets on 2011, we look forward to the thaw of fur and chunky riding boots. Spring 2012 appears to be shaping into a much more comfortable, light and West Coast look.  Jimmy Choo embraces Pacific nights and strappy sherbet stilettos that make us want to recess in Margaritavillle.

For a natural feel, Givenchy goes wild with oversize shark tooth necklaces.

Don’t forget those ocean blue hues! Dive in and break out L.A. by Dior’s new colorblocking bags.

Travel and Leisure: Quintessential Queenstown

Once you visit Queenstown, New Zealand, you will understand why the country
is often referred to as “Godzone”(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God’s_Own_Country).  I was lucky enough to visit there last month with my Kiwi BFF who is a true Queenstown insider.  We had an amazing time!

Here is my list of some of my favorite things to do.  I truly hope you have a chance to visit!

Brunch at: Joe’s Garage

Shop at: Vesta

Spa at: Millbook Resort

Risk your life at: Canyon Swing

Cocktails at: Blue Door

Dine at: Winnies

Wine at: Amisfield Winery

And for all you J.R.R. Tolkein fans, I didn’t run into any Hobbits while I
was there, although apparently they were everywhere!

Travel and Leisure: Joe’s Shanghai

NY Institution Joe’s Shanghai, was the scene of this year’s RSJ Holiday lunch.  It is a truly authentic NY Chinese dining experience where you literally have to shout above the din of plates and cutlery to be heard and your mouth drools over the delectable treats that travel through the restaurant.  Best known for their famous soup dumplings (a hot surprise in your mouth!) you can enjoy all the usual Chinese fare you know and love.  Lunch is made even better by the dessert that follows—window shopping at Harry Winston next door….

Travel and Leisure: Diamonds to Dream About: Elizabeth Taylor Jewelry Sale

Elizabeth Taylor defines classic style in the jewelry world. Her precious collection stunned during her Hollywood heyday, and last Tuesday it was able to shine once more when Christie’s hosted an auction of more than 80 of her prized pieces. The “Legendary Jewels” of the sultry star set a new record for highest grossing sales at a private jewelry collection auction: nearly $116 million! Given her status as a style icon, it was perhaps not surprising that most of the items fetched far more than their estimates. Taylor’s tiara of diamonds upon diamonds is worth quite a sum on its own merit, but still managed to sell for over 50 times its highest valuation. We enjoy window shopping this collection, but for all of you with a few million to spare, a glittering piece of history can still be yours as the sale continues at Christies or online through Friday.

Travel and Leisure: Tawharanui Regional Park

With the winter weather fast approaching, how perfect does Tawharanui Regional Park look right now? This park is one of Aucklands best-kept secrets and one of my favorite destinations! Between the beaches, forests, animals, surf and view nothing beats this! Attached are pictures from Rosena’s recent trip there.

Things I Covet!: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Sari d’Eau

This orangey red lipstick with a tangerine-gold shimmer is my current go to pick. Light weight enough to add just a touch of color it can also be intensified for a bolder look–who doesn’t love that versatility!
